Finding Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza was a pleasant surprise after a long morning touring the grounds of Mission San Luis. We arrived with hungry bellies, and left more than satisfied. Close to Florida State University, the constant hustle of a college town creates a great atmosphere to enjoy your tasty pie.
Walking into the new-to-us pizza place, we had no clue what to expect. I think it’s safe to say we weren’t disappointed. It was very clean, open, and welcoming inside. Every single employee chimed in with a friendly, “Hello.” It’s a build-your-own, cafeteria -style ordering system. However, they do have their own signature pizzas, which I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
When they took our order, they asked for our names as well. So as we move down the line, each new employee greeted us by name with a smile. Something, I feel, that is totally lacking in customer service industries primarily run by teens and young college kids these days, but I digress.
And even though we were smack dab in the middle of lunch hour, we had our pizzas in-hand less than five minutes after paying. Another point in my book.
So snag yourself a cozy spot outside on the patio, grab your choice of lemonade (hint: the Bloody Orange Lemonade is a total winner), and enjoy a refreshing slice of goodness. I forget what mine was called, but it was made with a white cream sauce, mozzarella cheese, bacon, garlic salt, and arugula. So, so good! Jon’s was a BBQ Chicken with blue cheese crumbles, onion, and BBQ sauce drizzled over the entire pizza. Equally fantastic in its own way. I’m tellin’ ya, you can’t go wrong at Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza.
